What do I do if I find something that doesn't work correctly or find a bug?
Before going any further, make sure you have installed the latest version of Java as specified on the downloads page. If you do find a problem, you can either post the problem to the forum or send me an email through the contact page. Please be sure to provide as much detail as possible. At a minimum, please provide the following information:
* Operating System you are using.
* Version of Bead Application you are using.
* Description of problem. What were you doing when the problem occured?

Why can't I open patterns I created with an older version of Bead Application?
For better or worse, this program is still evolving. When you save a pattern, the information has to be formatted and written to a file. Because I'm still adding basic features, the information that is contained in a pattern is growing with each version. Between version 0.1.7 and version 0.1.8, I added some information to each bead that is contained with a pattern about it's finish. This is so that in the future I can update the way the bead is drawn to be more realisic. Now the program expects the beads that have already been saved in pattern files to contain this information. When it doens't, the program throws a fit. The good news is that these types of changes will not happen very often. I think with version 0.1.8, I have a pretty stable list of information about each bead and pattern. If there does happen to be any large changes again in the near future, I will do my best to provide a means to open older patterns and re-save them. When I finally release version 1.0 these types of changes will stop.
